FBI Recruits S.W.A.T. Star as New Agent After Lisette Olivera’s Exit

New casting information has been revealed for FBI Season 7.

Per Deadline, Emily Alabi (S.W.A.T.) has been cast as a new character in the current seventh season of FBI. She will be playing a new agent who’s expected to be paired with John Boyd’s Stuart Scola after the character’s partner, Katherine Renee Kane’s Tiffany Wallace, left the series last year. Alabi will have a recurring role in Season 7, but if all goes well, she could be upped to series regular in Season 8.

FBI: International Season 4, Episode 8, “You’ll Never See It Coming,” is a rough outing for Wes Mitchell, Cameron Vo and viewers of the CBS series.

Alabi also had a small part on FBI: International, playing the character Natalie Rivers in a 2024 episode of the spinoff. She had a recurring role last year as Olivia Navarro on the TV series S.W.A.T., and she’s also known for playing Mahina in the Magnum P.I. reboot series. Her other TV roles include Joe Pickett, The Rookie, Runaways, Jane the Virgin, and Teen Wolf.

Will Emily Alabi Stick Around Longer Than Lisette Olivera?

This casting follows another new star exiting the series just as quickly as she arrived. Lisette Olivera had been cast as a series regular with her role of Syd Ortiz in Season 7, meant to replace the void left by Kane’s departure. Her run on the series would ultimately last a handful of episodes before it was revealed that she was exiting the show. This was reportedly due to creative concerns over the character “playing too young.”

Shemar Moore reveals how far they want S.W.A.T. to go beyond Season 8.

“Well, Scola can mesh well with everyone because he doesn’t like anyone, until he does,” Boyd previously told CinemaBlend about what could be coming next for Scola. “He doesn’t trust anyone, and he thinks everyone’s full of BS. No, I think what would be cool is for Scola to get the kind of partner that he doesn’t know he needs. [Those] are the funnest stories to tell, are the people that bring some side out of him that he didn’t know. Someone that challenges him, someone that teaches him, that he can learn from. You really, really need that trust on this show, you have to have a partner that you feel like you can really trust, and it’ll be interesting to build that back again someday.”

On new showrunner Mike Weiss and writer Aaron Ginsburg providing strong storylines for the show, the actor added, “It really has been [fresh]. I’ve just been so impressed with how they’ve been able to write. The storylines that they’ve thought of this season for Scola, I’ve just been really excited about, and interested too in the partnership stuff and the speed dating and people not working and the Goldilocks. It’s just been really fun. Everything they throw at me, I think is really cool.”
