Washoe County School District trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to give Superintendent Joe Ernst a positive performance review after evaluating him based on six goals from the district’s strategic plan. Ernst was evaluated as having made “strong progress” on five goals but graded as having made only “moderate progress” on another goal: student voice and advocacy.
Board of Trustees President Beth Smith said, “The board adopted this rating scale [for the superintendent] specifically because it is the same … used for the evaluation of teachers, principals and other administrators in the Washoe County School District.”
