A teacher at Falls Church High School was arrested this week after she allegedly sold vape cartridges to numerous students.

Kaitlyn Cresent was taken into custody on Monday (Dec. 30) after investigators determined she had sold the vape cartridges — which contained nicotine and THC — to four different students, the Fairfax County Police Department announced yesterday (Friday).

Cresent, 28, worked as a learning disabilities teacher at the school, according to her LinkedIn page. She is no longer employed by Fairfax County Public Schools, police said.

According to the FCPD, Child Protective Services received a referral on Oct. 23 for a teacher who had been selling the cartridges to students. Virginia allows tobacco products, including vapes, to be sold to those aged 21 and over.

An investigation found that Cresent had sold the cartridges to students between December 2023 and June 2024, police said.

Cresent faces three separate charges, including distribution of a controlled substance on school property — a felony. If convicted, she faces between one and five years in prison for that charge.

The other charges are for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and distributing a tobacco or hemp product to a minor.

Cresent’s court date, which is likely to be in Fairfax County’s Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court due to the nature of the offenses, was not readily available.

A request for comment sent to FCPS wasn’t returned by publication time.
