Russian Veronika Kudermetova defeated Colombian Camila Osorio 6-4, 6-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Hobart International on Wednesday.
Kudermetova, ranked No 77, will play Belgian Elise Mertens, the second seed, next at the Hobart’s Domain Tennis Centre.
The Russian won against Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (7-5, 6-0) ahead of her win today.
In the previous round of the tournament, Osorio, ranked No 61, beat Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 8 seed (6-2, 6-3).
